Stark Future S.L. has high hopes for the future of electric bikes and is hoping to drag the rest of the market up to the high standards set by its creation of the Varg, which is jam-packed with market-beating technology, speed, and engineering.

Stark is a Spanish company based in Viladecans, Spain. It has been operating since 2019 with the goal of reducing plastic and CO2 pollution within the motorcycling industry, doing so with its own products and motorcycles that aim to equal, if not outperform, current machinery.

The VARG is their flagship motorcycle, a 118kg monster boasting more than 80HP at the back wheel on its Alpha model. These power stats actually blow their competition out of the water, with most traditional 450cc combustion motorcycles pushing out a staggering 30% less power from their engines.

In addition, the VARG has the lightest motocross frame available on the market, which contributes to the bike’s overall weight reduction. This comes in handy to compensate for the additional weight that is typically associated with a battery-powered engine, which is typically heavier than a conventional combustion engine.

Specs

Battery

This machine’s battery pack has a capacity of 6.5 kWh, which means that you should get approximately 6 hours of trail riding out of it, or you would be able to compete in an entire heat of racing without any problems or loss of power. A complete recharge should take between one and two hours, depending on the charger and outlet that you use.

Chassis

The chassis on the VARG has been developed and created to give a rider an incredibly comfortable ride while also offering a very low center of gravity, making the bike appear to be much lighter than it actually is and thus giving the rider more feel when it comes to riding.

Stark boasts that they have the lightest motocross frame in the world, clocking in at under 6kg—insane numbers! They have achieved this by using straight tubular pipes, which work in equilibrium to give a rider the best feel of weight, strength, and resistance.

The bike also comes dripping with carbon fiber on the subframe, allowing for even more weight savings!

Motor

According to Stark, the VARG has the most potent power-to-weight ratio of any production motocross bike in the world, it contains a carbon fiber sleeve motor that clocks in at 9 horsepower per kilogram, with 275 Nm of torque going to the countershaft and the rear wheel getting as much as 938 Nm!

With patent-pending technology, Stark has been able to invent the world’s smallest inverter for their motorcycle, which has supposedly 30% more peak power than a 450cc motorcycle.

Suspension

Stark has paired up with Japanese brand Kayaba to kit the VARG out with some of the best shock absorbers on the market. Both the front and rear suspensions get 310mm of travel, which helps to improve traction on the track while also ensuring comfort and stability for the rider.
